Alpina Bi-Turbocharged BMW 7-Series

Alpina has release the all-new Alpina B7 Bi-Turbo official image. Alpina's latest proposal is based on the new 7-Series and it uses a modified version of BMW's factory 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine developed to produce 507-horsepower and 700Nm of torque.

The car capable to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in only 4.7 seconds. However the top speed is electronically limited to 280 km/h or 174mph. Alpina has not issued any details yet, but we gather that the B7 Bi-Turbo will also feature upgrades to the suspension and braking system.

For the exterior, the B7 has been enhanced with Alpina's signature front lip spoiler, a boot spoiler and a set of multispoke alloy wheels.

BMW Alpina B6 GT3

Alpina a well known BMW tuner has decided to return to motorsports after a 20 year absence. The comeback will be staged in the 2009 FIA GT3 European Championship but the best part the company will be selling exact copies of their race cars to individuals, collectors and other teams.

The Alpina B6 GT3 is a race car based on the current BMW 6 Series. The good news is that it is also available for sale to the public. What these lucky people would be getting is a light-footed sports racer with a low centre of gravity. It runs on 18-inch Michelin wheels and weighs 1,350kg (2,976 lbs). It's fitted with a 4.4-litre V8 engine that is force-fed by a supercharger in order to discharge 530PS (390kW) and 725Nm of torque. A 6-speed sequential gearbox is included. The acceleration power of the Alpina GT3 is very good. It is capable of blasting from 0 - 100km/h in just 3.9 seconds and has recorded a top speed of 285km/h at the Nordschleife.
